SQL Server Performance

    I have read that Terminal Server and Citrix are resource hogs and should not be run on the same machine as SQL server. Is this the same for SAS?

    General recommendation is that never run any other performance based or third party applications parallel to SQL server on the same machine. I don't have much experience on SAS to comment, if brief information can be given then can give insight.

    SAS is very much a resource hog. For best performance, you will not want to run it on a SQL Server. Like satya says, dedicate a server to SQL Server.
