   Hello - I am very new to Visual Studio. I am using it with BIDS. I am trying to write a query which asks the user to enter either all or part of a surname to search the database for. Can anyone tell me how to do this please as I have tried everything I can think of and I can not find any info on the www about it. Thank you.

   What have you tried?
   Select columns from table where surname like '%search_name%'
