Almost always any search I do on these forums times out with:
------------
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/forum/search.asp, line 349

-------------
Stats not up to date? tables not being reindexed? Search has been an ongoing problem on the Snitz forums, actually it is more efficient to use google (already the main site search is powered by google and I'm considering moving the forum search to google).

To search the forums using google just use the following term:

forum xxxxx siteql-server-performance.com

where xxxxx is your search phrase.
Even you can use Windows Live Search that gets even better results from Technet inside pages [].
Jude,
Having Google search on forums is a good move, I believe this is even better in CS (or you could use multiple providers).

Satya SKJ
Microsoft SQL Server MVP
Writer, Contributing Editor & Moderator<br /http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com

This posting is provided AS IS with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing.
Knowledge is of two kinds.
