Hi all i am trying to upgrade one of our crucial production server from SP3 to SP4 its SQL 2k server.I am kind of new in this field, before I have done a new installation and installed sql server 2005 and SP2 but I dont have any experience in upgrading service pack from existing edition to new eidition. Depending on your expert experience, is it all same as installing a new service pack or do i have to take care of some other stuff. Your helpful suggestions are cordially appreciated. Thanks
Bear in mind, it is out of mainstream support and only extended support is availabel from Microsoft. In this case you must test the deployment within your development environment to assure no application issues or to solve if any arises. As referred by Luis it will be easy go to deploy and it always depends on how your application is designed to the changes that occurs in such service pack releases, best thing is to go through the README.HTML file that is associated with this service pack for more information.
