Hmm, strange, checked all logfiles could not find any errors. I'm a bit stocked here, does any1 have another idea what to do? TIA Dan
another little add on: - tried to install sql 2005 x32 version -> same result -> node unavailable reason unknown - tried to continue installation (with node unavailable). dialog for remote login uid/pw is missing, installation continues but hangs on installing sql server cluster resources. - tried to install sql 2000 x32 version -> nodes available installation would continue ok any other ideas?? acki

ok, after setting up a packet sniffer and running behind the bits and bytes I finally found the solution to this problem. Make sure the "Remote Registry" service is running on second (inactive) node! HTH acki
