I have set up an ODBC connection to our SQL Server. If I use this ODBC to create linked tables in MS Access, I can edit, delete, whatever as I see fit, no trouble hitting the database at all. I have a SQL report writer app that uses ODBC. When I try to use the same ODBC connection I get the "server does not exist or access denied" error when I first try to create a report. Since I can get to the server with MS Access, it seems like I have the proper rights. What could cause this problem? Would MS Access have some sort of way to communicate when my other app does not? thanks Fred
