I've installed SQL Server 2005 enterprise edition on Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) but after installing MSSQL.1 folder is missing in C:/Program Files(x86)/Microsoft SQL Server. Kindly help me out to resolve the issue..
    Thanks in advance

    Any particular error?
Could you find in: start-->all programs-->Microsoft sql server 2005--> and so on, something or nothing?
  5. faa New Member

Yes i've found it in my start menu.
i've done following changes to the registry when i was trying to install it.. is it right?

Click Start | Run | type regedit | Click OK.

    Navigate to:

    “HKEY_USERS\S-1-518\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders”

Right click on AppData | Click on Modify and type “%USERPROFILE%\Application Data”

    Navigate to:

    “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders”

Right click on AppData | Click on Modify and type “%USERPROFILE%\Application Data”

Start --> all programs --> Microsoft sql server 2005 -> Configuration tools ->>Sql server configuration manager.
Check if sql server (MSSQLSERVER) is running.
  9. faa New Member

SQL Server Configuration Manager contains only SQL Server Integration Services.

Well then, I presume you have to reinstall slq server from fresh copy. :(
  11. faa New Member

    i have already reinstalled it..
  12. faa New Member

ok, i'll reinstall it once more..
tell me how to uninstall it completely? should i need to do anything else after uninstalling it from control panel?
  13. Luis Martin Moderator

May be your copy is corrupted.
Is hard to believe, when you are installing, no error at all.
Anyway, wait for others members opinions.

i just got warning regarding ASP.NET registration but no errors..

while installing it gave me errors then i found that some files are missed during extraction of setup, so i manually copy those files on their required location..
