    Hello All,
We are installing SQL Server 2008 enterprise edition in our PC. But databaseengine, repoting services and agent services shows failed at end of the installation process with the error like below
"wait on the database engine recovery handle failed "
But we are able to connect another server using our SSMS but not able to open the local SQL server.
Please look into this issue and guide us how to proceed to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Ganesan.

By any chance have you renamed the SA account on SOURCE server when you are trying to upgrade this new machine.

Do you have any other SQL instance running on that machine?

No Satya. Actually this our node. We have uninstalled all the instances and try to install SQL Server 2008 and installation failed with errors and some services like Database engine, reporting services were marked as red after installation. However we can able to connect to our other servers instances from the SQL but not able to open the local host from the PC we have installed the SQL Server 2008.
Please help us resolving this issue. Thanking you in advance.

Check setup/installation summary.txt file if there are more info about the error...
