DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR-(SQL Server DBA w/Sybase)

Job Description:


This position is within the CAS Information Technology division and IT Infrastructure Services organization. The organization provides IT service management (service delivery and/or service support) as a sustainable competitive advantage to a business that operates revenue generating, 24/7 online services and internal business systems. It achieves this through the application of leading technologies using an ITIL-based, process-driven approach. The position will serve as a member of the Database Services Team that designs, configures, installs, maintains and upgrades CAS IT Database technologies.

• Provide service support through the day-to-day operation of IT services
• Provide service management through the fulfillment of basic service requests
• Provide incident management through the restoration of normal service operation following incidents caused primarily by known errors
• Participate as a team member of projects of all sizes
• Take direction from management and senior team members
• Analyzes database performance and implements changes as necessary to meet application needs in accordance with corporate directives and service level requirements.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in the installation, configuration, performance and tuning, maintenance, and upgrading of the following types of database technologies- SQL Server (2005 and 2008), and Sybase 15.X
• Excellent verbal, written communications and project management skills
• Application database experience highly desirable
