SQL Server DBA - Production OLTP job in SF

SQL Server Production DBA position at Ingenio in SF.

I have the following critical position open in my company. If it looks interesting, we are interviewing right away to get this spot filled.

You must come from an OLTP environment where you are running 100% live 24x7. Batch environment experience is not applicable.
No maintenance windows ** you have to do everything while the DB's are up. Prefer people also coming from larger enterprise environments dealing with large DB's, Clustered environments. etc..

Job description:

In this position, you will be:
* Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies with SQL Server 2005 in a 24x7 production environment
* Perform daily and monthly deployments.
* Help Engineers and QE to debug database related issues.
* Develop and implement replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies
* Anticipate hardware requirements and storage capacity planning for Development, Testing, QA, Staging, and Production for scalable database growth and performance
* Proactively monitor production databases and optimize stored procedures for better performance. Resolve locking conflicts/blocking and resource utilization
* Administer, maintain, develop and recommend policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company's databases and systems
* Ensure all database environments development; Testing, QA, Staging, and Production.
* Identify and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and other distributed data issues

Requirements
* 3 to 5 Years SQL Server production DBA experience
* Experience with large databases with high transaction volume in a fast-paced production environment
* Maintaining high-availability systems in a 24x7x365 E-commerce environment
* Experience with backup & recovery, performance monitoring and tuning
* Experience with SQL Server log shipping, replication and clustering
* Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication and documentation skills
* Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and as a member of the production support team
* Bachelors degree in technology field or equivalent experience

Just out of curiosity, if there is no maintenance window how do you do your deployments? and your reindeing of OLTP db?

i think they will find out it is easy to talk,
these requirements are generally drafted without input from anyone who can actually do it.

the pattern when this happens is someone who claims to be able to do it is hired, starts planning out hw/sw, ie, to buy the solution,
buys lots of expensive products hw & sw only to find out later that vendors expensive claims,

I am not aware of a true 24hr requirement
every one I have looked at was really an international market made up of distinct regions
ie,
North/Central/South America, Europe/Africa, & Asia

which meant that each region could get a separatee database,
which meant that you really did have a maintenance window

but this was only after much arguing with dumb nuts who liked to talk 7x24
