We have just begun the migration path from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005, so the timing is perfect.     The SQL Server Programmer position entails development of new products as well as maintaining and enhancing existing applications. The individual will work independently as well as with others and be an integral part of all deliverable.
    Required Skills:
    · Minimum Bachelors Degree in Computer Technology
    Optional Skills:
    · Experience with MS SQL Server 2005
    · Experience with SQL Server Reporting Service
    · Experience in ADO.NET development
    · Experience with SSIS
    Job Duties:
    · Implement Business Logic Using MS SQL Server provided technologies such as Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views
    · Work with application developers to create data layer solutions required by application, mainly by creating queries and stored procedures
    · Optimize and approve existing and new stored procedures and queries
    · Modify and maintain existing schema and Create new schema based on application needs
    · Optimize queries using MS query profiler and proper indexing
    · Use source code versioning tool to manage code versioning
    · Perform database change management
    · Create scripts to resolve data integrity issues
    · Strong understanding of database tuning, optimization, best practices and protocols
    · Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude and good communication skills are essential
    · Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and as a member of the production support team
