Hi,

Did anyone heard about or attended the advanced SQL courses offered by SolidQuality Learning.com ? I just want some feed back and some suggestions about which course will be good from a DBA stand point of view.

I'm trying to decide between 2 of their courses (unfortunately, I can afford only one

1. SQL Server Internals and Performance Tuning.
2. Advanced T-SQL Programming.

I know the first one is better for a DBA. But, by looking at the course outline, it appears very basic to me. And I guess we DBAs does need advanced T-SQL skills (atleast to find faults in developer's code
What do you guys think ? Which one of these 2 courses would you choose ?
S Q L has got solid mentors and I'm sure you will get most out of it.
For DBA perspective I would suggest to go with course 1 as the second one would be ideal for an existing SQL programmer though TSQL is an essential part for a DBA.

Course 1 seems to be internals and advantage to know about it.

Not that I have attended one or am planning to attend, but when you only consider the names mentoring for that company it reads like a who is who in the SQL Server community.
Hard to tell which I would choose with seeing what they offer. But personally I tend more to go with alternative 2, because the internals of SQL Server you can get for $50 from the Inside SQL Server book and there is a whole bunch of bad SQL code out there.

[]

Frank<br /http://www.insidesql.de<br /http://www.familienzirkus.de
