sqlserver 2008 installation failure in windows xp machine

    i am trying to instal sqlserver 2008 in an pc having windows xp.
    I am getting the error :
    TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure.

    SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:
    Object reference not set to an instance of an object..

    Are you installing SQL 2008 express edition on windows XP SP2 ?
