sqlserver 2008 SP's and hotfixes

    In a new server , we installed windows 2008 (X64 bit) and sqlserver 2008 (64 bit) enterprise edition.
    after that do we need to install any service packs or hotfiexes??
    what 's the version we should be in sqlserver 2008??

    I don't have it but, if I were you I'll install any sp and/or fix.
    About sql version, could be 10.0.1600.22?

    You are talking too early for hotfixes & Service pack for 2008 version, as of now nothing is released and it is better to identify what is the version you get on this 2008 instance.

    Be sure that all h/w drivers in windows 2008 , 64 bit are configured well. and these drivers are from its original manufacturer.

    CU is entirely different to the service pack and general hotfix (security), so it is still a good practice to watch for such CU from MS.

    no we don't need to install any other service pack or any hot fixes.....
