Welcome to the new forum and site folks! Its been a bit of a journey but we finally have a new fresh site with new forums. Its still a little rough around the edges (several formatting issues to still be solved) but the new site will deliver more features than the old slightly creaky CommunityServer system. Questions, comments, issues - please just let me know....
There are a few issues I'm working on such as post counts, but unfortunately you will need to re-input your profile.
Post counts are fixed. Still a few issues on my list... Also need an avatar, Frank has set the benchmark too high for this... His new one in higher res is awesome.
Thank you very much! I have this image now for years, but no other community software ever did such a good job on turning this 1024x768 into a really cool avatar.
The new site is cool. But my profile says I am member since July 28, 2007 but actually I am active member since 2003. So it should be changed
I think Jude forgot to give you that attribute. Actually your are Active Member. That's why you can't see Moderator's Forum.
In "what's new?" you can find last posted. Not exactly "active", yet. Also (top right corner) "All recent Messages".
There are many broken links from all threads from which I received a lot of traffic on my blog. I think google will not like it and that can result in worst SERP position for any content of the site. Here are examples: http://www.sql-server-performance.com/Community/forums/p/32560/167937.aspx http://www.sql-server-performance.com/Community/forums/p/14623/14623.aspx http://www.sql-server-performance.com/Community/forums/t/32564.aspx http://www.sql-server-performance.com/Community/forums/p/12275/69068.aspx
Yes, I've noticed that some redirects do not seem to work, but I don't think that will cause a big issue, since Google didn't like the old forum anyway. Guess we just have to wait and see...
The rendering will take time based on the web link and if it is transfered using IP then its a problem for any SEO.
Sorry guys, I fixed the redirects over the weekend. They originally worked but seems the htaccess was overwritten when I made some changes on the admin panel. Added you to the Mods list Madhi, will be fixing the join dates shortly. Sorry for the hassle, the forum software is quite new so there are no APIs to work with. Just shout if you see anything weird.
You will definitely want to chmod .htaccess to something like 644. There is usually no need for write (and/or execute) access, since that file should be fairly static, once everything is working as expected.
