I am getting them, and I know some others are too. This makes it very hard for me to troubleshoot, although I will give it some more work. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Yes I can understand the difficulty. I did many things. change the mail ID, update them again etc. but all in vain
Dinesh, I was a freak for subscriptions until I discovered the benefits of an RSS feed. Maybe you should evaluate this "workaround". As for the problem: When SQL Server Central.com used Snitz, they had this problem, too. I experienced this multiple times myself. IIRC, the solution was to restart the mail server. Anyway, Brad, maybe you can ping Brian Knight. He troubleshooted those problems and might be able to help here. -- Frank Kalis Microsoft SQL Server MVP http://www.insidesql.de Ich unterstütze PASS Deutschland e.V. http://www.sqlpass.de)
Sure, I've just installed this morning an RSS reader that works fine. Just visit www.rssbandit.org, download the latest version, install it. Next you need to subscribe to news feeds. To do this, you choose File -> First menu entry (I guess in English it must read Subscribe to feed or something similar). Point your RSS reader tohttp://www.sql-server-performance.com/forum/rss.asp and you're done. You can then specify in the settings in what interval the feed should be requeried, if a notification should pop up if new entries are available. and, and, and... Very simple and convenient. -- Frank Kalis Microsoft SQL Server MVP http://www.insidesql.de Ich unterstütze PASS Deutschland e.V. http://www.sqlpass.de)
I'll restart the mail server and see what happens. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
I have restarted the mailer server, but I guess it didn't affect those users who aren't getting the e-mail. My next thing to try is to look over the mail logs and see if that tells me anything. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
Just a thought. Have you considered turning off subscription at all? This subscription is sometimes more or less slowing things down. I would be interested how many members actually use subscription. Or how many are willing to move to RSS feed like Dinesh. What about something like a poll on this question? -- Frank Kalis Microsoft SQL Server MVP http://www.insidesql.de Ich unterstütze PASS Deutschland e.V. http://www.sqlpass.de)
Frank, that's a good point. When I look at all of the subscriptions there are, it's a bunch. I would like to hear from others of what they think. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
That is a good idea. I beleive heavy users like frank and satya will love to use RSS but for the low users they will like to have subscripption
Hi, I have decided to give the RSS feed a go, but my initial thoughts are: 1) I will spend far too muych time reading posts if i get all of them! 2) i think i would prefer just subscriptions...that way i will get just what i take an active interest in... but i am going to give it a go for a few days and see what i think...i guess i will learn more if i am seeing everything! Ben
Dinesh, nice joke on "heavy users". Who kicked satya off his throne of monthly postings?<br /><br />Even if you can see all posts in the reader you are still free to decide what to read. But i agree that't is tempting. Guys I'm not into this RSS mania, a change is always good when you want have fun. Satya SKJ Moderator http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum This posting is provided “AS IS†with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing.

I finally found the issue. As I had mentioned earlier in a post, it was working for me and some people, but not others, which made the problem hard to diagnose. But after some more trying, I finally figured out. It has to do with a setting on the SMTP software on my server used to prevent spammers from using my system. ----------------------------- Brad M.
