I am planning to rollout web hosting services for some of my custom software clients. I primarily work with (ASP).NET & SQL Server Solutions. Any recommendations on minimum system requirements for an ASP.NET + SQL Server environment?

    Hi ya,

this is really a 'how long is a piece of string' kind of question...

    depends on for example:
    - number of concurrent users
    - size of the database(s)
    - DR requirements
    - availability requirements
    - performance requirements
    - size of the tables
    - complexity of the SQL statements
    - budget
    etc, etc.

I'd suggest developing on a Desktop or an existing server/set of servers and then try to extrapolate some of the above (or get answers from superiors on some others...)

Like Twan says, this is hard to recommend without some idea of the load.

But I can say that RAM is your most critical components, and since it is relatively cheap, get as much as you can afford.
