I'm afraid yes, as I don't see any such events information from MS site. There are several ways to become an MVP. First, and probably the most important, is to participate in community forums like this one. Many of the heavy posters here have become MVPs. Less important options include: speaking at SQL Server groups and conferences, writing, blogging, and having a website dedicated to SQL Server. Once you have established yourself, which usually takes 1+ years, then you have to be nominated by another MVP or by Microsoft directly. Even with all of the above, sometimes not every qualified person becomes an MVP. -------------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, SQL Server MVP http://www.sqlbrad.com
Recently (beginning of this year) MS have revamped the MVP program & criteria, it also depends upon that individual response when such invitation has been offerred. Its nothing but how you market yourself, by all means the hard work will always pay good results.
