Two years ago, I began to post here[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt='' />].<br /><br />In that time 3 members belong to 1000 club. Satya (who never lost first place[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-4.gif' alt='' />]), Gaurav and Brad. Now we are 7 and that is great.<br /><br />Twan married, peers with new jobs, silly statistics, not only SQL 2005 happens in two years.<br /><br />I remember when Brad ask me about Spanish Forum, and I said: are you shure?, will work?.<br />Now is more and more active so, once again, Brad was right.<br /><br />Thanks to all, I'm very happy to be here.<br /><br /><br /><br />Luis Martin<br />Moderator<br />SQL-Server-Performance.com<br /><br /><font size="1">One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important<br />Bertrand Russell<br /></font id="size1"><br /><br /><font size="1">All postings are provided “AS IS†with no warranties for accuracy.</font id="size1"><br /><br /><br /><br />
Thanks for all your help. It is great to have someone help out to Spanish-speaking DBAs. Now if I just could find someone else to help out in other languages. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com

I had not thought of this. Do you want me to start a German language forum on this website? ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com
I'm afraid that is the idea[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-2.gif' alt='' />].<br /><br />Luis Martin<br />Moderator<br />SQL-Server-Performance.com<br /><br /><font size="1">One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important<br />Bertrand Russell<br /></font id="size1"><br /><br /><font size="1">All postings are provided “AS IS†with no warranties for accuracy.</font id="size1"><br /><br /><br /><br />
Brad, I'm not sure if a German forum would make too much sense. Germans seem to have not the greatest affinity to become active in webfora. Especially not in international ones. My own forum is more or less stagnating since I've put it online [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-6.gif' alt='' />]<br />Anyway, you can judge better on this, since you have an overview on how many members are from Germany and how many of them have actually posted.<br /><br />--<br />Frank Kalis<br />SQL Server MVP<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.insidesql.de>http://www.insidesql.de</a><br />
Happy 2nd forum birthday Luis, great to see your time and contribution on this forum. I believe it will be a good start to host German section seperately and see for a while, as I can remember the Spanish forums picked up very well since last year. (Bit of Luis's job) As per the members list there are 35 members designated from Germany and only Frank is fully active from them (don't know from rest of anonymous members). How did you find that out? Did you scan through the pages, satya? -- Frank Kalis SQL Server MVP http://www.insidesql.de
Yes, just sort out the members list on the country and from page 156 (I think) you can see members from Germany. [8D] Satya SKJ Moderator http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com/forum This posting is provided “AS IS†with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing.
It can hurt to try a German-language forum. But it's up to Frank. ----------------------------- Brad M. McGehee, MVP Webmaster SQL-Server-Performance.Com

The cyncical in me would say, that after the end of World War II there must have been a boost in german speaking people in Argentina. A german area would be fun. I could test the google language tools. <br /><br />Let the laughing begin. [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt='' />]<br /><br />You guys that are bilingual make me jealous. I would work and live in Spain if I could just get the language down. lol I love that place.<br /><br /><br />MeanOldDBA<br />derrickleggett@hotmail.com<br /><br />When life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.
The Google language tools are nonsense at best. Even the automatic language tool of MS KB is horrible. I always stick with the english original as it takes more to translate a text than simply take word by word. -- Frank Kalis SQL Server MVP http://www.insidesql.de
Paises. If you pick any of my Spanish article, and translate using google or any other tool, I bet you can't understand nothing. Spanish isn't that hard to read. It's understanding it in a conversation or writing it that I have issues with. That's the EXACT opposite of everyone else I know. MeanOldDBA derrickleggett@hotmail.com When life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.
