I don't think there is a problem.. you may try "Refresh" before clearing all events.

Hope other forum members can give solution for this..

This is an informational message when you try to refresh the log, ensure the services are running and also check SQL error log for information.

I have gone through the article on microsoft site
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811484
In this article last para says :"To prevent the error,
troubleshoot and resolve the application error that is raised by the other application."
How cud I get which application is responsible for this error.
Does removing Dr watson will help to get fix this error.

Well you are causing the error every time you clear the log. Stop clearing the log <img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-4.gif' alt=':p' /> . SQL Agent reads the event log and you will always get that error if you clear it.<br /><br />Set the event log to replace old events or something if you feel the log getting too big.<br /><br />

Is there is any procedure to remove events defined in the SQL Server Agent alert.I guess if i remove the defination of event id 318, I might not get this error any more.

Why you are risking by touching system data, as you know that is an informational message and no issues with SQL Then simply ignore the error or follow as referred bt Argyle.

Otherwise do it at your own risk.
