upgrade hardware in passive node

    i have sql server clustering in active passive environment. I need to upgrade some hardware resources in the 2nd node, so how i am going to do that, please let me know in detail,

    Welcome to the forum!
    What kind of hardware upgrade you have to perform?
    Say in case of any process hardware-only upgrade it won't work because of the differences in cpu and server chipset. You will have to reinstall from scratch. If you have other servers in place better to deploy SQL on those server while performing the upgrade on thsi one.

    well i am not worried about hardware, I just want to know what are the procedures, since its an active-passive environment, what are effects of failover if i tried to upgrade the hardware resources in the active node.
