Is this product able to run on real servers with XEON 64 bit processors? I haven't seen any technical articals on running sql 2005 on a virtual cluster in order to test prior to purchasing and loading the hardware in production while using Virtual Server 2005 on a dual XEON 64 bith machine. Anyone know of a resource for this? TIA, Wayne wdetmer@vcnet.com Wayne Detmer
SQL 2005 BOL specfies quote: Do not install SQL Server 2005 on Microsoft Virtual Server or Microsoft Virtual PC on hardware that is not listed in the Hardware and Software requirements sections below.-http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506.aspx link. May try searching inhttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.mspx for more information on support of SQL cluster in thsi case. Thanks Satya, The second link has a source for FAQ on Virtual Server.http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/evaluation/virtualizationfaq.mspx This indicates Virtual Server 2005 R2 is the answer for use on Intel 64 bit platforms. Using this I can create my two node cluster in the virtual environment prior to production. Wayne Wayne Detmer
