    Hi,
We want to synchronize SQL 2005 database, of a client between their two

branches in different cities, For that i found Web Synchronization, is helpful to us.

But I found that While configuring Web Synchronization, i have to use Domain

Name, Static IP, SSL critificate, Which might be cosltly to our customers. So i

    want to ask three questions,

    1. Is Web Synchronization possible without configuring Domain Name?
    2. If I got Static IP, Is that possible to use IP Address in Webserver Address, while

    synchronization?
    3. Can I use Self Signed SSL Certificate?

    Thanks in advance....

    You would need one.

    2. If I got Static IP, Is that possible to use IP Address in Webserver Address, while

    synchronization?
Yes this should not be issue.

    3. Can I use Self Signed SSL Certificate?

You can generate one yourself by using Certificate Services, which ships with Windows 200x Enterprise Edition, or you can purchase a certificate from a certificate provider such as Thwarte, Verisign, and so on.
    Note:
Web synchronization is available only on SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition, running on a Windows 200x Enterprise Edition server running IIS. Although it is possible to configure web synchronization on SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition, running on Windows XP Professional and above for testing purposes, it is licensed only for testing.

    Thank you for your reply,
    - Here If I use Static IP, as Web Server Address like, https://198.168.1.5/TestPublication/replisapi.dll, Dont it need a valid SSL certificate, and authorities only give trial cirtificates on Domain Names, Not on IP address. So here what I can Do?
    - And if I am using Self signed certificate, on subcriber Browser shows alert that, this certificate is not trusted because its self signed.
So Is it possible for Web Synchronization over internet to Use address like this? https://198.168.1.5/TestPublication/replisapi.dll, if yes than does it work with Self SSL?
