why am I getting logged off?

I have the site option set to "Reload every minute" and periodically (perhaps every few minutes) I get logged off. Is there any setting in the forums that does this?

Not sure what is causing this folks. Haven't made any changes to the forums. I recycled the app pool, hopefully this will cure it (it seems to help with a few problems on Snitz)

    Check with Satay [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif' alt=';)' />] may be his auto posting program is logging you off [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt=':)' />]<br /><br />MohammedU.<br />Moderator<br />SQL-Server-Performance.com<br /><br />All postings are provided “AS IS” with no warranties for accuracy.<br />

[<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt=':)' />] Don't use every minute and minimum option is to use 2 minutes in order to reload the posts, I have had similar issues previously so using 2 minutes tab since last 4 years.<br /><br /><b>Satya SKJ</b><br />Microsoft SQL Server MVP<br />Writer, Contributing Editor & Moderator<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com>http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com</a><br /><center><font color="teal"><font size="1">This posting is provided AS IS with no rights for the sake of <i>knowledge sharing. <hr noshade size="1">The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind.</i></font id="size1"></font id="teal"></center>

I think it might be related to Internet Explorer 7.0.
  8. satya Moderator

Yes it is, with firefox I don't have that problem.
It must be cookies refresh problem with IE7.

Try with 2 minutes, I have no problem in using that on IE, Firefox or any other browser.

In that case you should go for the MS MCM (Microsoft Certified Mouser) exam. There they will teach you how to click faster. But don't click too many windows open at the same time, or you might get a cold. hadn't thought it was related to IE7 but that is not a big surprise. Quite a lot of strange IE7 behaviour (ever tried to open two YouTube videos in different tabs... ugh)
  16. ndinakar Member

Yes I do use IE7. so the issue seems to be only with IE7?

I use IE7 at work and home, same problem in using 1 minute refresh at work but not at the home.
So additionally I guess some sort sniffer or network related software at work place.

now for those of you that have the same issue, do you also have SQLTeam in another window set to "reload evey X minutes" ? I have a feeling its because both the forums use the same Snitz software and the viewstate is getting corrupted? Now I am making a very wild guess here in the are I have no experience in [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt=':)' />]<br /><br />***********************<br />Dinakar Nethi<br />SQL Server MVP<br />***********************<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/dinakar/>http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/dinakar/</a>
