DBA role for Security Issues?

Hi
I am a new guy taking up DBA tasks, I have an issue from IT Security dept saying that
security issues with Oracle. I am the only DBA here and not sure wht to do with such type of issues. They say tht DBA who was here before me, used to handle these by reviewing and determine if any patch needs to apply.
Can any one please guide me what I am supposed to do? Tht’s a gr8 help, thanks.
What security issue, you are talking about ? Is it Oracle or SQL server?
Yeah its something of Oracle, ofcourse i know tht we are not suppposed to post issues related to Oracle but i just want to know in general,wht wud be a DBA role in applying patches.

I think it is one of the main responsibilities for a DBA to ensure and enforce security.
As for Oracle-related questions: There is no forum rule, that such questions should not be posted. However, it is surely a wiser decision to try Oracle-related communities first. Tehre you should get quicker a good solution. I like these Oracle resources
