SQL unavailable to clients
To increase the IP range in our office we added a second subnet mask. When these machines attempt to connect to SQL we get timeouts does anybody know a way around this. What kind of errors you’re getting? Which netlibs are listened to?
Make sure there is no dropped packets in the network and use TCP/IP to connect on client and server. HTH Satya SKJ
Using SQL Server over a subnet will not affect SQL Server, assuming that the router or switch and the DNS have been set up correctly. My guess is that you have a configuration problem causing your problem.
