can not connect to remote sql server

hi all,
i just installed a new sql server i’m tying to connect to it useing enterprise manager from a diffrent computer not on the local domain but i’m getting a can’t connect error i’m positive the password is right. maybe its a network problem any sugestion will help.

Can you ping the IP Address from the different computer? MeanOldDBA

And ensure Server ALIAS is defined on client network utility for that server, also try to add entry for SQL server in LMHOSTS file. If those are 2 different domains ensure those are trusted. Satya SKJ
