Active/Active vs Active/Passive

What are the pros and con of configuring clusters as Active/Passive vs Active/Active? What are the maintenance, setup, performance, failover differences? Everywhere I’ve read that Active/Passive is preferred method but I haven’t found reason why. Thanks

To put it briefly, there are two main advantages of active/passive over active/active: 1) Easier to maintain.
2) The second node will be able to take over the full load of node 1, not shared like in an active/active setup. —————————–
