Book OnlineHiya, another newbie question: I know where the bol files are located(all those .hxi, .hxa, hxk…). So how do I launch it? I tried clicking on those files and all it does is ask me what I want to use to open it. Thanks in advance.
My shortcut is "Crogram FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedhelpDExplore.exe" /helpcol ms-help://MS.RSBOL80.1033<br /><br />Do you not have a shortcut in Start><img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-4.gif’ alt=’;P’ />rograms>Microsoft SQL Server>Reporting Services ?<br /><br /><br />HTH<br /><br />Jasper Smith
Yes I do, I was looking at the folders directly. Thanks again Jasper!! Can I ask one more question? I have uploaded sample reports to the report server and everything looks ok, the query for each report is predefined. Now realisticly, most of us cant really predefine the query for our reports due to different criteria. So aside from passing parameters, using stored procedures, how else can you alter the query for a report? Can you set the Select statement programmatically?
Yes. Have a look at the topic "Walkthrough – Using a Dynamic Query in a Report" in BOL ms-help://MS.RSBOL80.1033/RSAMPLES/htm/rss_tutorials_v1_7qr7.htm
