Changing password of SQL Service account

Looking for advice on changing the password of SQLServer & Agent for a 2-node active/passive cluster. Previous password is unknown and mail is not installed. <sigh> So, I’m looking to change the password for the SQL service account in order to install mail. The account in question is only running the SQL related services and not running any cluster services. Anybody have any tips or gotchas? I’m looking at ground zero knowledge wrt to this specific topic. My assumption is that I only need to change the password in AD, then update each individual service on each node. Is a reboot/failover required? Thanks.
I’m going on an assumption that all I need to do is change the password in AD and then use EM to change the password for both services.

See the Warning under the SQL Server 2000 section…
<br /http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239885/

I’m still not finding any documentation regarding just changing the password. I’ve no interest in totally mucking it up with changing the accounts. [)]
That is the problem other than that KBA there is no direct document in this regard, probably contact MS PSS for any resolution. Few times this has been referred in the forum. Satya SKJ
