Clustering with Windows 2003 Enterprise

I am in the process of setting up a new active/active cluster on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise to REPLACE an existing active/active cluster running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I am planning on doing a clean install and relocating databases to the new server pair. Are there any issues/changes/recommendations to the active/active SQL cluster installation when utilizing Windows Server 2003 Enterprise when comparing to Windows 2000 Advanced Server ? Also…I previously installed a active/active SQL cluster on Windows 2000 Advanced Server using Joseph Lamb’s book on Windows 2000 Clustering and Load Balancing. Are there any other good books out there that cover the same subject for Windows 2003? Anyone use Windows 2000 & Windows Server 2003 Clustering & Load Balancing

Hi ya, I used the doco from this site to install my 4 windows 2003 active/active clusters. No issues to date… As per ms doco you have to set up an alias using cliconfg.exe before you install sql, and have to set up dtc walk in the park… well almost <img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-5.gif’ alt=’;-)’ /> Cheers Twan

That’s the only book I have seen so far. I have not done this upgrade yet, but will later this year. When I do, I will write a new, updated article. —————————–
