Cube Backup Job
Hello every one. I read through articlehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/312399To create a batch file and then schedule it to archive analysis cubs.
I tried on my test box Drogram FilesMicrosoft Analysis ServicesBin>msmdarch /a MY_SERVER_NAME “Program FilesMicrosoft Analysis ServicesData†“FoodMart 2000†“C:FoodMart2000.cab†And it really backed/Archived it. But when I try doing it on my production box I used this. U:> “Erogram FilesMicrosoft Analysis ServicesBinmsmdarch†/a SERVERNAME “Erogram FilesMicrosoft Analysis ServicesData†“FoodMart 2000†\ZoolooworgroupsackupMainFoodMart 2000.cab I don#%92t know what I am missing even though I see that msmdarch.exe is started but after few seconds disappear on task manager window. Also my actual cube data I am linking from a local sql server so instead of referring to
“Erogram FilesMicrosoft Analysis ServicesData†“FoodMart 2000†Where I would be referencing to. If any one has an eagle eye please come forward. Regards Ashfaq
Canyou check for any information in Event viewer or error log for this behaviour.
Try to run MSMDARCH without any parameters for more information. Satya SKJ

You need to check that the service account running Analysis Services has write permission ot the share \ZoolooworgroupsackupMain that you’re backing up to. It may be a permissions problem. Try running msmdarch to back up to a file on a local drive and see if it works.
