DTS defaults settings for #’s and char’s

how do I adjust the default settings on the dts to always import numbers as numeric, and never as a floating point, and also always import all characters as varchar, and never as nvarchar? Thanks for the help. Archer

I assume that they are set for nvarchar and float since whenever I import data into a new table. Nvarchar’s cause problems for my GIS people, and float’s cause me problems by generating floating point rounding errors. How can I set these defaults to numric and varchar? Thanks
