DTS Package taking long time

Hello All, We have a DTS package on one of the 2000 machine say A server and it has a step which is executing a procedure on other 2000 machine say B server, we recently migrated databases from B server to C server (2005 Machine) now the DTS package is modified to point to C server, this modification was done 5 days back but the thing is in last 5 days time taken by the step in DTS package is missbaving, please find the details below.
1st day this step took 2 hours 55 Mins
2nd day it took only 5 mins
3rd day it took 6 mins
4th day it took 3 hours
5th day it took 3 hours I dont understand What is the problem with this, is any one experienced this kind of things… if so please help me in troble shoot in this.. Thanks,

Are you directly executing from Entperise Manager or scheduled as a job?
Have you check the DTS package log in this case, that is the first option to check why it is taking longer time. Satya SKJ

Alternatively, you can run dbcc commands to maintain and check the consistency of the db which you have migrated. Also you can run statistics update on the same.
Also check the service pack installation.
