Error after Installation of SQL Server 2000 SP3

After i install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3), Microsoft SQL Server does not start or it starts and then immediately stops, and error messages are logged in various files.
The following error is generated in the Application log in Event Viewer:
Event ID: 17055
Source: MSSQLSERVER
DESC: 17310:
FRunCm: Process 2844 gen fatal except c0000005
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION.
SQL Server is terminating the process.
Can someone help

If you atre planning to install sp3a then why not sp4

I am not so sure about the Stability of Sp4, i dont really know much about Sp4, but i’ve read that it is more for 32 apps to run on 64bit platform. am i correct? AKTHAR DILMOHAMUD

If you are installing sp4 make sure you install hotfix which was released after that
