Evnet ID 17055

I have SQL installed with default options on a Proliant ML530 G2 server, with W2K as the OS. On event viewer I keep getting this message: – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Information, Event ID 17055, Category 2, Source MSSQLSERVER, description: 8128: using "xplog70.dll" version "2000.80.760" to execute extended stored procedure "xp_cmdshell"
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I cannot figure out what this relates to, can any one help? M. Arturo Olvera, IT Support
If you are experiencing problems, then I believe it would be far better to inspect the SQL Server errorlogs and the SQL Server Agent logs. Event ID 1755 are informational events (one of the other columns in the event log text file indicates whether the event’s message is an error, information, or a warning). In this case, with the parameters for the event being the only clue, I believe the Event ID 1755’s are just saying that SQL Server launched an extended stored procedure called ‘XP_CMDSHELL’.
