ACCESS_VIOLATION – Strange SQL Mail Error

We are getting this Error while a SQL job that sends mails runs.
The same type of Access Violation error has come also in a Linked server job. We searched a lot , but found nothing of use. Have any of you faced this kind of an error message before ?
Please let me know your opinions on this. Highly critical. SQL error. Stmt #: 1450 Error Position: 0 Return: 8601 – [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 85 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process. Thanks

Do you have the latest OS and SQL Service packs? If not, install them. If you do, you need to call Microsoft and open up a support ticket. It costs $250 if you don’t have an agreement with them already. You need to do this quickly. MeanOldDBA

True, in the case of AV errors MS support might have the fix with nominal costs or as per your support agreement. Satya SKJ
