Analysis Services Newbie

Hello Guys,,
I am a beginner in Analysis Services… And I need to evaluate which one in AS 2000 and AS 2005 is much convenient to used and applied in business processing.. Please give me links for me compare and validate which is much useful for our applications. Some give me an advice with this…

Sqlserver 2000 is also having analysis sevices but now 2005 having lot of features compared to previous versions so better to go for the 2005. DataMining is also became very easy and u can classify to any extend….. satish.e

SQL Server 2005 has many more features. So I also prefer for SQL Server 2005 AS —————————————-

IMHO there is no such article availble on the web to evaluate the features between the 2 versions, as usual you will see more enhancement and deprecation on the latest release which is SQL 2005 AS and in this case only you can rely upon the Books online content. Moreover you have to clear about your business requirement & budget to allocate relevant (sensible) hardware for optimum performance. Satya SKJ

I have decided to use 32-bit Analysis Services 2005 and I think tool is a lot more easier than the
2000 version…. If I had the time I will post the comparison between the two. jhoy

That is by default as you will see many features associated with latest version, as suggested using the Operations guide you can be assured about selecting the relevant edition. Also if you ask anyone they would suggest to go with latest version if your requirement is a fresh one. Satya SKJ

Very true, go with latest version why buy a 2000 volkswagen when you can purchase a 2005 Mercedes. Raulie
