Backup Question

I have granted dbo, db_backupoperator role but when this user tries to change the location of the backup folder using SSMS, the following error is displayed:
The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object ‘xp_availablemedia’, database ‘mssqlsystemresource’, schema ‘sys’.
The user does not have permission to perform this action.
The statement has been terminated. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 229)

Looking into the sys schema persmissions within this database, dbo has access to backup database/log and select permissions.
Appreciate any help.

But, may be, he don’t have permission to change the folder or write.

This is a SQL user account. Funny thing is if this user types in the backup folder path and runs the backup process, works fine.
Issue is when he is trying to clikc the ellipses to display the available drives on this server. Also I confirmed the windows account that this user is logged in with, has access to the backup drive .

Try with one user with SQL Windows authentication. To me that is the problem.

Thanks , will try it !!!

Here is one article but it applies to 2000…check it out…
