Welcome! []
Take you time to walk and read through communities like these to see what problem there are and how they can be solved.
Books Online (BOL) should be the primary source of information, but don’t make the mistake to be too proud to ask a question when you don’t know something. Can save a considerable amount of time and probably your job. Welcome, you are in right place and as suggested lot of reading by applying them in practice (on test labs) should get you hands on what you are going to get on. One suggestion is before post the question it is best to search on the forums, that will get more information on the issue rather than going around the open question and answers. My experience is ‘attempts may fail… but never fail to attempt’, so go for it and good luck. Satya SKJ

This posting is provided AS IS with no rights for the sake of knowledge sharing. The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind.
Besides reading, practical experience is the key. As you run into problems, and you will, you will need to figure them out. This process, while hard sometimes, will make you a better DBA over time. Be patient. I have been doing this 10 years, and I still don’t know even half of what I would like to know. ——————————–
