bit version

Hi all
I have windows 2003 R2 64 bit version of operating system. I have SQL server 2005. How do I check if the SQL server I have is 32 bit version or 64 bit version
any help is appreciated

I know that but does x86 means 32 bit? what it says for 64 bit?

It will say (X64). SB

FYI, please note there are no 64bit tools so with usual 32bit management studio you would be able to perform the chores/ Satya SKJ

I had 32 bit SQL server and is not compatible with 64 bit operating system. I am in the process of getting 64 bit version on SQL server 2005.

who told you 32-bit SQL is not compatible with 64-bit OS
whoever told you this is an idiot
disregard any other advice from this person

Microsoft will not support a 32 bit SQL server to 64 bit win 2003 server. that is what I was told.
Also when I try to run the SQLdiag I could not run as SQLDiag is 32 bit which runs on 64 bit OS and also I have missing counter. this let me beleive that SQL server 32 bit is not fully compatible. any advice. until now I am running 32 bit sql server on 64 bit OS but we are in the process of changing it.
Any advice is appreciated
