Box Placements

Will be setting up a network and was wondering whether I should place my SQL server in the DMZ or Internal Network. It will need to talk to my iis box that will be in the DMZ. Where should I place the SQL box and how will it affect its performance?
Internal network. Check out www.sqlsecurity.com for more information. You don’t want to expose your SQL Server to the outside world. MeanOldDBA

Even you can secure the connections if wish to host SQL on DMZ with FIREWALL enabled.
And use different port other than default of 1433 & 1434 for SQL SErver. As suggested by Derrick browse thru SQLSecurity for most of the security information.
