Changing Service Account Password

I want to change the service account password(forgotten) and the sql server is clustered. What are the necessary steps to be taken before doing this task. Thanks,
Bala
I remember doing this as a offline operation….wait for GURUS responses on this. Cheers

Hi Satya, I just need to change the pwd not the service account(login) itself. I think I can inform the window admin team to change the pwd in the active directory, once they change they will let me know the pwd which I need to update in the sql service account. Now the sql server(clustered) is up and running. Once I get the new pwd, can i just simply apply the new pwd in the sql service account? Any other steps which i need to follow when the sql is clustered? Thanks,
Bala
Nothing specific just follow the KBAs above. During the transition of password change ensure to stop the SQL services to avoid any sort of failures. Satya SKJ
