Connect over Gatway ?

Hi all together,
Is it possible to specify a gatway (other then standard network gateway) when I connect to a db from a client without implementing static routes etc.? Sample Connect String on client:
Connect DB A on Server S1 over gateway G1 I don’t think so but surprise me !

I believe you need to control the connection from network side as there isn’t any from SQL Server. Satya SKJ
