Create TLog having two BAK files

I have two backup files: One belongs to Aug 4th and another belongs to Aug 6th. Test_DB_200408042030.BAK
Test_DB_200408062030.BAK Is it possible to create TLogs for Aug 5th? In other words, is it possible to build up the Test_DB_200408052030.BAK? Thanks, CanadaDBA
Depending on how you have the recovery mode and log backups setup, you could restore almost to the point of the full backup. Is this what you are asking? You can’t "build" a .BAK full backup from a previous full and tran backups though. You have to restore everything, then do another full backup. MeanOldDBA

I have schaduled jobs and my recovery model is Full. I don’t have T-Logs belong to the 5th. Well, I am not in trouble now but I have lost the Aug 5th backup and although it is not important any more but this question came up in my mind that is it possible to build it again?

Ah. Nope, you can’t. How do you "lose" a backup? I would be in a REALLY, REALLY bad mood if that happened.

MeanOldDBA
[email protected]

When life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.
Once its lost means lost forever, no chance of recreating the scenario.
So you better cheer up Derrick by taking pre-cautionary measures by not losing the backups in future. Satya SKJ
