Database mail error
HiI configuered database mail on one of my sqlserever instance and i created the profile and created account and tried to sent the test mail. But i cant do that and when i check in the sys_mail_log it is showing this message The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2007-06-25T08:58:40). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: [email protected] …Relaying denied). ) what does this mean pls tell me how to trouble shoot it

Iam able to send test mails from other boxes using the same smtp server but not on this particular box

Google is telling you it cannot relay mail – which is standard network practice. You need to setup your own valid E-mail server or find a provider who will accept relay mail from a specific IP or IP Block (yours). Depending on your connection service agreement the service provider may also restrict SMTP traffic.

when i try and send test mails from other boxes to the gmail id iam getting the test mails but only on this particular box iam not getting it. Iam able to ping the smtp server from the box this means that the port 25 is open or do i need to ask my networking guys to open it on this particular box. quick replies appreciated.
