Database Mirroring within One Server

Is it possible to have multiple mirror endpoints for database mirroring within one server ?

I haven’t tried mirroring on the same SQL Server instance, but what I have been doing, for practice, is to install two instances of SQL Server 2005 on my server, and test mirroring between the instances. —————————–

According to BOL, no: "All mirroring connections on a server instance use a single database mirroring endpoint. " Just curious, why? -Greg
