Dynamic Axis’s on charts

Is there a way to adjust the size of the min/max values of a chart’s x and y axis or major intervals, so that depending on what data is put in, the chart can resize itself an example might be: revenues for days in a month are more closely related and can show more information if on smaller major intervals than revenues for days in a year, where the values can be more volatile and probably need larger major intervals and maximums
