Error 823, Severty 24, state 2

I m getting an error from one of my server – the error mssg as follows – Error 823, Servrty 24, state 2 Error message : I/O error (bad page ID) detected during read at offset 0*00000015bd0000 in file ‘E:datamsdbdata.mdf’..
When i did try to use msdb I’m able to do so. Could any one let me know what this error means and what is the action that can be taken to sort it out.

823 errors are almost always hardware related. The usual advise in such a situation is to check your hardware very carefully, replace malfunctioning pieces and restore from the last good known backup. As an alternative you might want to call Microsoft PSS. —
