Error in bkup MSDE db in 2005 Mgmt Studio Express

Trying to backup a MSDE 2000 database in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio
Express and get the following error: Property BackupDirectory is not available for Settings
‘Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Settings’. This property may not exist
for this object, or may not be retrievable due to insufficient access rights. I can detach MSDE 2000 database from MSDE 2000 instance and attach it to
Express instanace in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express.

Hi ghemant, I have fixed this by adding the string BackupDirectory to the registry key of MSDE instance. I believe this issue is due to the fact that MSDE 2000 does not have GUI to do backup and there is no such string BackupDirectory needed for the default backup directory in the MSDE 2000.
